5th Grade Math this week....

  • October Number Corner has begun!!  Ask your kiddos about the predicted fate of our classroom carrots and what we have learned about measuring their mass.  The data we gather will be used to create a graphing activity as a class. We will also be using our visualization skills to observe a building (made of blocks) from 3 different perspectives (top, bottom and front) to pick a final composite.
  • Unit 2 in our Bridges Curriculum will focused on some fraction work.  This week we used money and clock models to help us begin our work.  Luckily, we already had some previous experience with this in our September Number Corner.
