Oldie, but goodies .....
5th Grade Math this week....
- March Number Corner--This month we will continue to look at area, but by multiplying with decimals instead of fractions. We will also do some data collection and line plots. Finally we will learn a form of bingo involving division with decimals.
- This week we took the Unit 5 assessment and the Bridges Interim Assessment #2
- Then, we jumped into Unit 6 and started refreshing our skills with coordinate grids.
- Next week we will add onto these skills by looking a patterns and sequences with our ordered pairs. Finally, we will take a quiz to assess how we are doing.
Literacy this week....
- This week we started Module 3--Athletes Leaders of Social Change
- We explored our mentor text, did some close reading,discussed the gist of our text, found main ideas and key details.
Science this week....
- Our third science unit-Earth Systems.
- Unit Question: What can determine how much water is available for human use?
- Chapter Three: Why is more water vapor getting cold over West Ferris than East Ferris?
- Next week we will start Chapter Four: What is there more water vapor high up over West Ferris than East Ferris?
Social Studies this week....
- Black History Month---Classrooms finished up our work on this early in the week.

- Being an Ally in situations involving ability
